Consultation
We want to hear about you to understand how you want to live in and around your new kitchen.
Understanding your investment from the beginning helps to achieve the kitchen you’ll love to come home to for years to come.*
Design & Quote
We will present you with a photorealistic concept and quote. You can explore the various fittings, finishing options in our showroom so that your new kitchen works for you and how you want it to look and feel.
Approval & Sign-Off
Once the design and finer details are complete and you’re ready to hit the go button, we’ll get the paperwork signed off. Then we can plan the timelines from here and lock in a date your final site measure.
Craft & Install
When one of our production experts has completed the site measure at your home, the factory team completes the crafting of your joinery project. Then our professional installers fit your custom, made to measure cabinetry into your home.
Quality Assurance
Following installation, there may be other finishing touches to come such as benchtops and splashbacks.
Following final quality checks we will register your 10 Year transferrable Craftsmanship Guarantee.**

Makiko Smith
I kick-started my career completing a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts and Design and worked as product designer specialising in lighting and furniture design for over 9 years. Now I'm applying my vast experience and design capabilities to kitchen design with Sunshine Joinery
Olivia Bollard
I have a background in fashion and textile design studying a Massey University in Wellington. After seven years in fashion and textile design, I transitioned into high end interiors, working as a luxury rug and carpet designer in Chelsea London. After returning to New Zealand I am transferring my interior design knowledge to kitchen design with Sunshine Joinery.
Rick Martin
I started my career as an apprentice builder in Palmerston North before making the move into joinery. After travelling to Europe for three years and working on shop fit outs, boat building, kitchen manufacturing and installation I returned to New Zealand, moved to Hawkes Bay and established my own joinery business based in Onekawa. I have 16 years’ experience designing and manufacturing kitchens as the owner operator of Sunshine Joinery.

Our Story
The business was established by owner operator Rick Martin after returning from travelling in Europe and looking for somewhere to set up his own joinery business.
Over the following years Rick has been joined by his wife and a dedicated team of joiners and designers that all have the same passion for providing kitchen solutions through a focus on superior products, innovative processes, and outstanding service.
Rick and his team love to help people and want to do everything they can to ensure a client’s vision is brought to life and that the process of doing so is as smooth and painless as possible.
